One of the most amazing things about darkspawn was that no matter how many times you cleared them from a someplace, eventually they always came back. Aeducan Thaig was a wonderful example of that. Ulricha's family used to live there centuries ago, and only a couple of years before she was born King Bhelen and his traitorous sibling cleared it again and retrieved the ancient Aeducan Shield, but now here it was overrun again.

Of course, there weren't so many of the blighters there that they wouldn't be able to handle them. After all, this was a party and not an expedition. But a proper thaig party did mean they'll get to kill a few darkspawn before opening up the ale kegs.

"Everyone ready?" she asked when they reached the area where Orzammar's army didn't regularly patrol the Roads. From this point on, they could face darkspawn at any moment. Still, the princess wasn't as reckless as one might think (or as her parent Nodal did think, and said loudly and repeatedly) - there were enough of them there to handle whatever waited in the thaig, and enough ale for all of them to drink after that. More importantly, she had the three people she trusted most with her - with Sid, Rosamund and Kapka, there was nothing the princess couldn't handle. It was a shame Kaiden couldn't come to see their ancestor's thaig, though, but this party probably was a little too dangerous for her little brother.

It was generally a bad idea to go drinking in a spawn infested thaig (as Aeducans generally seemed to be all the time!) but they had celebrating to do so nothing was going to stand in their way! With the "gang" out in full force (missing Kaiden for now but Sid suspected he might find a way to the party!) the first wave of darkspawn were torn through, Sidonnie "wooting" and shouting with glee as they moved deeper into the thaig. She knew just the right spot for their little party, somewhere easily defended and where they could bolt if things got too hot and they were far too drunk!

For now though she followed Ulricha's lead, having her back, shield and sword in hand (and already covered in ichorous darkspawn blood.

"This shit's the best!" Kapka practically hollered, cackling as she jumped up and down. In either hand she held a dagger and a handaxe, both covered in blood. It had been a long while since she'd been down in the thaigs --the last being a Carta expedition that had been horrendously stupid! This was twice the fun, for there was no infighting among them and plenty of kicking ass.

Now, if only she had some alcohol in her system. "When're we gunna break open the cask?" she questioned, a wide grin spread across her face. Of course, it was silly to become totally sloshed down here, but what was a party without a little booze? Fighting made her thirsty and she was ready for a drink!

"Did someone mention Party?" The deep cheerful voice of a belated arrival broke in. "Sorry i'm late"

If it wasn't for the fact the voice was familiar he might not have been recognised. His beard gone to be replaced by a long braided goatee and a younger looking face, Brim Helmi, still a newlywed by most stretches of the imagination sauntered in, his battle axe resting across his shoulders. He nodded at Sid and Rosamund and bowed his head at the Princess.

"Wheres the beer?" Brim grinned.

There were about thirty of them including the gang and Brim, and with almost all of them being good fighters, handling the handful of Darkspawn they've encountered so far was simple. With the map and their memory guiding them, the dwarves were headed to a good spot for their little party.

The only problem was, that the hall they needed to get across was apparently home to a couple of ogres. Charging in there with a whole bunch of dwarves would be stupid, so instead she told the others to stay back and guard the ale. Addressing Sidonnie, Kapka and Brim she said, "Kapka and I will take the one with the red horns. Sid, you and our esteemed Helmi guest will deal with the other one?" The princess wasn't sure how well Brim and Kapka can work together, but she trusted him to have Sidonnie's back.

Trying to be discrete Siddonie sidled up to Ulricha and asked, "I thought this was just us girls... and Kaidan?" The dwarf sounded disappointed, she did not know Brim very well and she wasn't even sure she liked him. Even though ogres lurked in the ancient thaig Sidonnie still wanted an answer, sooner rather than later.

"Yeah, I know," she said in an apologizing tone, playing with her braid uncomfortably, "And once we get there and open the ale, no one will have to talk to anyone they don't want to. It's just... well, right now there's two ogres we need to kill. And I did already said he should help us do that, so... Maybe I can team him up with me or Kapka instead?"

This was just an offer, though. If Sidonnie asked her to do so, Ulricha would have no problem sending everyone but their gang back to Orzammar. It would be rude, and probably not a great idea as they were about to get drunk in a darkspawn infested thaig and could use numbers, but Ulricha wasn't above rudeness nor foolishness. Especially when it was for her best friend.

"Wait, did you say and Kaiden?" she asked, suddenly realizing she heard that.

While Ulricha and Sidonnie were quietly discussing issues, Kapka was very interested in the newcomer. She was absolutely flirting, uncaring that she was of a lower class and that they were in a darkspawn and possibly ogre infested thaig. Neither did she speak against only a small amount of them --the gang, really-- fighting the ogres on their own, for that sounded like a hoot to her!

They weren't moving yet, however, and so she remained talking to Brim. "Well, helloooo," she purred, sidling up beside him, a mischievous smirk on her face. "That's a nice axe you have there."

Brim uttered a choked laugh when Kapka sidled up to him and complimented his...axe. He scratched the side of his face, she seemed like a fun one, more than Sid, who he wasn't sure how to take, she was certainly amusing at the house party but drink tended to do that.

"Thanks, thats a pretty fine pair of weapons you got there yourself." he held his axe out "Wanna hold? She don't bite i promise"

He heard his name being mentioned and he immediately thought that he had ben discovered! He had really wanted to follow down to the Deep Roads and see it for himself, he was old enough, honest! Of course no one had given him any permission to do so which was why he had been hiding among the baggage that was destined to be consumed at the party. He had nibbled a bit when he had felt a bit hungry, though his hunger had disappeared when he had caught a glimpse of the darkspawn that his sister and her friends were fighting. They really looked like scary monster, even from afar which he luckily was.

But his keen ears had also picked up the earlier discussion of ogres ahead, tha was something he was noot that keen on and he hoped that they would deal with them quickly. But instead he just heard Kapka and the Helmi talk about their weapons. He could understand the appreciation of a finely crafted axe but was this really the time?

Still, even though he was certain he was discovered he decided he would remain where he was until the ogres had been dealt with at least. Perhaps his sister had only mentioned his name in some other context?

Feeling a little unsure of herself she looked around, the sense of being watching making her brow furrow. Instead of seeing Kaiden she instead saw Rosamund! Grabbing her friend she pulled her into the fight and said, "I need all the girls at this party!" She had hoped it was just the girls but one never knew with Ulricha's parties!

"First though, help me take out this ogre!" Sid worked well with Rosa, they made a good team. So while their leader fought alongside Kapka and Brim, Sidonnie and Rosa would take the other side of the ogre.

Very few people knew of Rosamund’s skills in battle. Certainly not the people in this gathering! Sidonnie and she had fought together in the name of their Princess in a Proving. Naturally Ulricha knew of her prowess for battle but she’d retired that. A lady-in-waiting did not fight! It just wasn’t how such things worked. She fully intended to sit back and allow the more skilled of fighters to handle the creatures.

Well, that was until Sidonnie grabbed her and claimed she needed her! Her eyes widened, attempting to protest did no good. She knew the look in the warrior’s eyes and she knew it well. Rosamund would fight. Withdrawing her family blades, she twirled them in her hands with a look of frustration. She hated the Deep Roads! Absolutely hated the place, littered with dead or living darkspawn and now they had to fight an ogre! She had protested against this venture but nobody ever listened to her.

“Careful, Sidonnie!” She exclaimed with worry as she danced around the ogre. Her blades slashing at the creature’s ankles. Did they have major arteries? Could they bleed to death?

Ulricha shrugged, feeling pretty sure that Sidonnie didn't really mean anything by it when she mentioned Kaiden. She probably just got confused, because normally they would bring him along for a party, just not a thaig-party.

Either way, with the ogre-fighting teams settled now, Ulricha led Kapka and Brim in an attack against their monster. It was a shame that Parve couldn't be there too, but her friend wasn't feeling too well and had to stay in the city. Still, the five of them could easily take care of these horned things, she thought as her scythe sank into the creature's shoulder. Of course, while it didn't weaken the ogre, the injury also made it roar fury and throw the princess against the cave's wall.

Kapka was positively pleased that the man seemed to be willing to play along with her jibes. With a laugh and a snort, she snatched the axe from his hands, marveling at it. Although it was still up in the air of whether she was flirting or not --okay, she was-- soon the fighting was on!

There was no way she was missing out on a fight with an ogre! After tossing her two smaller daggers to Brim, she charged after Ulricha, heavy axe held high! It was larger than what she was used to, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to have a hell of a lot of fun with it!

With a yell, the rogue jumped at the ogre, sinking the blade of the axe deep into its thigh, only laughing as it roared in anger!

Brim wasn't sure what had happened had actually happened, one moment the rogue was admiring Bloodletter, the next an ogre was attacking and .. and she had run off with his axe and given him two daggers! What the hell was he supposed to do with two daggers? he was a warrior not a rogue.

With a snarl he ran after her and almost winced in pain as his axe was buried in the thigh, he could almost hear the blade hit bone. He reached the rogue gave her back her daggers and with a glare took the hilt of his axe and drew it out. He ducked as the ogre swung its arms roaring at the pain, with a swing born from years of training with this axe and this axe alone, he sliced the air and cut through the wrist in a clean strike.

He stepped back and pulled a face as the wrist and hand landed near his and Kapka's feet, one finger looking like it was flipping them the birdie.

What was the most important thing was of course not getting tainted and with that in mind she used her shield often! Darting between the ogres legs and slashing when she knew the blood would not hit her Sidonnie made relatively quick work of the ogre, with Rosa's help of course! When the great hulking beast fell to the ground she did not flip it off like Brim but rather she stood atop it victoriously! With a pose of a paragon the warrior grinned, her blood pumping and ready for more enemies!

With its buddie slain by Sid and its hand amputated by Brim, the ogre was definitely very pissed off. Almost as pissed off as the dwarven princess who rose back on her feet and charged at it with a raging roar. Working with Kapka, it wasn't long before Ulricha's scythe cleanly decapitated the damn tainted creature.

"Anymore of you blighters in here?" she called out, smiling at the triumphantly posed Sid and her other friends, "Some genlocks? A shriek or two? No? Good, then let's open up those barrels and get this thing started!"

He had done his best to hide while there was fighting, it was pretty easy to know it from the sounds the big monsters were making. He then poked up his head when most of the loud noises had stopped. Well, except for his sister that was pretty loud. But that just made him grin. And forgetting about that when they were going for the barrels they would easily discover him. So he was pretty much busted now.

So he got up and then he saw the results of the violence. Darkspawn blood and guts everywhere, there was even a head lying over there! Kaiden was not a warrior, not very used to much violence or gore at all. So he did what any young boy in his position would do. He puked, though he was mindful enough to lean over the side and not over any of the party stuff.

"Oh party pooper!" Kapka complained when Brim took his axe back and roughly shoved her own daggers into her hands. Kapka still laughed, however, for there was a fight to be had. With her own blades she helped distract the creature so that Ulricha could finish him off. When the ogre fell with a final roar, Kapka cheered and danced around it.

Now, it was time for beer! With no enemies in sight, the former Carta member was the first to turn in order to skip over to their supplies, only to spot an unexpected guest!

"Oi, looks like we got a stowaway!" she shouted to the others as she moved over to Kaidan, slapping the kid on the back despite the fact he was still puking. "I dun think he can' hold his ale!"

After doing a quick perimeter check Sidonnie spied Kaiden at the same time Kapka did, but instead she shook her head and then headed towards the nearest barrel. Rolling her eyes at Ulricha she said, "I thought you said your brother was not allowed?" Sid had been expecting him, but if she had a choice she'd have Kaiden there over this Brim guy!

Slurping her ale she filled another cup up and walked over to the lad. Shoving it into his hands once he was done puking she said to Kapka, "I think it might be more the darkspawn than any booze."

Brim was more concerned about his axe but set the keg he had carried on the floor and opened it up, pouring himself a drink he stayed where he was for now, even wandered off for a bit, more to watch the entrance, old habits and all that.

He watched as the younger Audecan had been found, and smirked a little. Little brothers were almost like little cousins in his eyes, and his little cousin would sometimes pull the same stunt. He supped some more ale, he knew the time and draining his tankard he left it on the table with the keg, this was not really his place to be, the fight had been good though.

He raised his hand and made his way home. This was an Auducan thing and in his opinion he had no right to be there.

"Puking is what he gets for not listening to me," Ulricha said jokingly while hugging her brother's shoulder and waving goodbye to Helmi.

"Proud of you, though," she told him warmly, "A real Aeducan doesn't stay put at home when there's a thaig-party to crash." Speaking of the party, the princess was feeling a bit under-aled and went to fill herself a mug. After taking a long sip she gave Sid a hug too and asked, "How are you, salroka? I've been seeing less of you since you've been staying at your mother's place..."

He was shortly done puking, though his cheeks were red from the slight embarrassment of briefly being the center of attention. Good thing it passed over enough so he could wipe out the corners of his mouth clean. Then accepted the ale from Sidonnie and used it to clean his mouth from the puke.

"Thanks."

Of course that meant that his mouth now was tasting ale and puke. But he swallowed it down because he could not spit it out after Kapka had said he could not handle his ale. He would show her.

Of course these were the friends of his sister but he still liked them, they were actually nice to him, even with Kapka's teasing. And when the puke taste disappeared the ale tasted pretty good.
